Wonder &

Connection

My name is Alexis Erskine, and I create art that is playful, whimsical, surreal, and inspired by vibrant colors and the joy of discovery. From a young age, my nana encouraged and nurtured my creativity, setting me on a path as a self-taught artist.

My aim as an artist is to evoke joy, playfulness, and wonder through my creations. I'm passionate about advocating for play, I and love creating communal art experiences. One of my most cherished pieces, "The Communing Tree," was a collaborative effort with friends, symbolizing our shared creative spirit. At the Duncan Hines Days Beats & Eats Music Fest, I led a community mural project that brought people together through art.

I want my audience to feel curious, connected, and filled with wonder both within themselves and their communities. My artistic influences span APA Style, 60s Mod Art, 60s/70s Psychedelic art, classic Hanna Barbera cartoons, and 90s/00s children's cartoons. You can find my artwork showcased at Paradise Point Marketplace and various markets, as well as on my Instagram.

Beyond art, I find joy in playing with my pets, building LEGO creations, exploring Animal Crossing, camping, and generally embracing tomfoolery. And fun fact: I'm fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
